Personal, School

Midterms and papers have me making an early wish-list:

  • 1 month of free time
  • Pizza and root beer
  • Movies
  • Bean Bags
  • Julie
  • Uncharted 2
  • Borderlands
  • Fallout 3
  • Modern Warfare 2
  • IL-2 Sturmovik: Birds of Prey
  • Assassin’s Creed 2

Sigh.

An Open Letter to BYU Students & Administration, 2 June 2009

School

dome

I expect this note, if printed in the Daily Universe, to receive heated responses denouncing it as unrighteous and heretical, an unfortunately common response on BYU campus when alternative ideas are offered. Maybe it is a tired subject, but daily reminders compel me to write this. I understand that this is a private university and as such BYU can create any code of conduct it believes prudent. However, as it is also a church institution, it should represent the ideals of the church while employing means to achieve these ideals that are compatible with the gospel.

This Year, To Save Me From Tears…

White Christmas 2008

Taken out my front window in Provo on 12/25/2008

The last time we had this much snow on Christmas day I was a little kid! It’s amazing, especially considering I have a season pass to Sundance with my girlfriend! This is going to be an awesome snow season!

Hello World

Personal, School

In my eyes, I am not a programmer, though I do work for the BYU Computer Science department programming Silverlight/WPF (C#). A weirdly nerdy programming thing to do whenever you’re learning a new programming language is to make a “Hello World” program that, when executed, prints out “Hello World”. So, this is my Hello World. I’m not a blogger, but I do find it therapeutic to write. In writing I find my soul, the good and the bad, and I discover just how much a stranger I am to myself. In acquainting myself with, well, ME, I also find myself closer to God.
